Nominees for First Vice President and Regional Vice Presidents

First Vice President and Regional Vice President Nominees

After consulting with hundreds of lay and clergy leaders across the LCMS, Congregations Matter proposes the following men as candidates for First Vice President and Regional Vice Presidents.  Discussions about candidates were held in Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, California, Florida and Texas — as well as at many District conventions this past year.

These pastors stand out from their peers as proven leaders with experience — servants determined to reverse our Synod’s dark decline into centralization, and to lead us forward again into a congregation-serving, Gospel- and mission-focused Synod.

Leaders Committed to Congregational Authority

From parish pastors to seminary professors to former District Presidents, each is committed to Synod’s first responsibility:  serving congregations and assisting them in their work for the Kingdom of God.

That’s not happening now.

Our Synod leadership has gotten away from its historic role, and is more focused on concentrating all authority, direction, and control in St. Louis. That is not healthy for our Church. The health of our Church is our local congregations.

Back to the Future

Congregations Matter is a movement within the LCMS that wants to restore the Synod to its historic role of providing congregations with advice, encouragement and resources to carry out their evangelical role of teaching and baptizing in their communities, as they see best fit for their own circumstances.

By careful reading of their qualifications, you will agree that these are the kind of servant-leader pastors God has prepared to help our Synod.

The Time to Act Is NOW!
